WEDnesday Inspiration. Shades of Gray.

So, just like the rest of the creative world, I am officially Pinterest-obsessed. If I go a day without checking in on it, I feel completely lost. For brides-to-be, sorting through hundreds of images and links on Pinterest can be overwhelming -- especially for those without a clear vision. So many beautiful images, where to begin?! Below, I've curated a little Wedding WEDnesday color inspiration for you all -- pulled from my favorite finds.

For many years now, I've been a huge fan of gray. It's so sophisticated, chic, and definitely a more interesting neutral than a traditional black or white. If it's not done right, however, gray can look a little cold in wedding decor. So, today's post is filled with ideas to help you keep your grays warm and cozy, in all your wedding elements.

A Little Crafter, A Lot of Buttons.

I have always been a crafter. Since I can remember, I was the little girl who would rather play with beads and glitter glue than watch TV. Even when it wasn't cool, I was crafting. Making accessories, embellishing my bedroom furniture, mixing my own nail polish. I started my button collection at the age of 6 with a pair made of glittery clear plastic (which has since turned quite yellow). I quickly added the prettiest flowery buttons I could find, and the rest is history.

The original buttons that started the collection

There was just something I loved about buttons. The way they looked packed into an old mason jar. The way they sounded being carried around in my old tin "button box." The way each was so different and special, but was made to ultimately serve a very simple function.

In middle school, I inherited my great-godfather Bill's collection of buttons and doubled my inventory with beautiful pieces made of metals, jewels, and pearls. I was in such awe of their old world elegance.

Today, I get to use these precious bits of my own history to make beautiful work for other families on their most special days.  See my buttons at work in my new collection of ring pillows : gatheredwedding.etsy.com
